Lady Bird

Hi readers. Hopefully there are readers. So on this saturday, 3 March 2018, I watched a movie at CGV Grand Indonesia entitled "Lady Bird". Starred by Saoirse Ronan, the movie tells a story of humor and pathos in the turbulent bond between a mother and her teenage daughter. Christine "Lady Bird" McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) fights against but is exactly like her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom (Laurie Metcalf), a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird's father (Tracy Letts) loses his job. Set in Sacramento, California in 2002, amidst a rapidly shifting American economic landscape, Lady Bird is an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home.

Personally, I think this movie is great. It is that kind of movie which everyone can somehow relate the story with their lives. Lady Bird's obsession of leaving her hometown and make it to the big city reminds me of my own self who was once so desperate to go for college in another city. Now that I have experienced living in another city from my college years and internship, I have big desire to live in another place aside my hometown. Lady Bird's turning from adolescent to adulthood also reminds me of how we were once so excited about the life ahead. All this grown up things were once thrilled us all except for paying bill and credit card but then we found out that the life of grown ups are not really that exciting at all.

Anyway, please watch this movie. I really recommend it. See you.
